​Springhill Academy aims to be a nut-free school. Whilst we can't guarantee that Springhill is a nut-free school we are taking proactive steps to minimise the presence of nuts and nut products on our school grounds to help protect children with nut allergies. People who suffer from nut-allergies can develop a servere, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction.

All children, parents, teachers and visitors need to come together to create a safe environment. While we

recognise the challenges of maintaining a nut-free environment, we ask parents/carers to support our school in being food allergy aware by not bringing in any snack/packed lunch items that may contain nuts such as:

• Peanut butter or Nutella/hazelnut sandwiches

• Fruit and cereal bars that contain nuts

• Chocolate bars or sweets that contain nuts

• Sesame seed rolls

• Cakes made with nuts
